About Me

I was born in Athens, Greece, in January 1975. As a child I lived for many years in Athens and also the town of Chania in the island of Crete. I moved to the UK when I was 20, initially living in Cardiff, Wales and later in Guildford, Surrey and Newbury, Berkshire.

In the UK, I gained a PhD in Distributed Software Systems, an MSc in Telematics (Telecommunications and Computer Engineering), a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Diploma in Natural Sciences (focusing on astronomy-related subjects).

I am a member of the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) in the UK.

Between August 2007 and March 2008 I contracted as a Technical Manager for European Dynamics.

Between March 2005 and July 2007 I worked as a Team Leader and later Development Manager for Abacus.

During 2004 I served in the Greek Navy and worked within the Centre for Electronic Data Processing as a Systems Engineer.

Between 1998 and 2003, I worked as a Research Engineer / Team Leader for CCSR, UK's largest research centre in Telecommunications.

Astronomy is one of my main interests. I currently use a 5" Meade ETX125 PE telescope for my planetary and deep sky observations. I also enjoy playing guitar, having completed 6 years of classic guitar studies.
